About this site

Less Car More Life sums up how we have lived for almost 22 years.  Life is better without a car involved, we find. Yes, we both have drivers licenses and both drive.  We rent cars, we use ZipCar.  But not very often and we are always so happy to return the car and get back on our bikes, back to walking, backing to taking public transit.  We are taking our philosophy global, leaving our beloved San Francisco and traveling.  Follow along here.

  1. I love the banner photo on this blog – driveway converted to garden! Whose is it, where is it, have any nosy parkers on the block complained?

  2. This photo was taken in SF but I’m not sure of the location. I think it was somewhere near Laguna Honda – I’ll see if the photographer remembers. I wonder if neighbors park in the curb cut or if the owners of the garage do? It was a pretty low density area so not as much competition for street parking.

  3. Hi there,

Love the blog! I’m writing on behalf of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. We just launched our “Commuter Chronicles” contest today, which aims to reduce the number of cars on the road.

Prizes include a folding bike, $250 Fas Track pass and $100 Clipper passes.

I was hoping you can help us promote the contest. Please let me know how I can send you additional info.

In the meantime, check out the contest at http://www.youtube.com/user/sparetheairbayarea

    Thanks!

    Jon
